Who we are

KAI Academy is an iOS learning game from KSJ AI, a KSJ Growth service. KSJ Growth is responsible for the app and this privacy notice.

What this notice covers

This notice covers the KAI Academy iOS app. The separate TryKAI website privacy notice explains how the TryKAI website, enquiry form, live website demonstration, analytics and cookies operate.

Information stored by the app

KAI Academy stores the following information locally on the player’s device so the game can work:

• Game progress, XP, levels, currency, rooms, lesson mastery, achievements and daily activity dates.
• KAI appearance, sound, haptic and other play preferences.
• Fixed-choice answers entered in the optional parent and guardian feedback checklist.
• Apple StoreKit transaction identifiers used to ensure a purchased Crystal pack is awarded once and not duplicated.

This local app information is not transmitted to KSJ Growth. It may be included in a device backup according to the device owner’s Apple and backup settings, but KSJ Growth cannot access that backup.

Information we do not collect through KAI Academy

The current KAI Academy app:

• Has no KAI Academy account or sign-in.
• Does not ask for or transmit a player’s name, age, email address, location, contacts, photographs, microphone recordings or free-text messages.
• Does not upload game progress, prompts or feedback checklist answers.
• Does not use third-party advertising, third-party analytics or tracking technology.
• Does not connect the player to a live generative AI service.

On this basis, KSJ Growth does not collect personal data from the current app and does not sell or share app data with advertisers or data brokers.

Purchases

The optional one-time KAI Premium unlock and optional Crystal packs use Apple’s StoreKit system. Apple processes the purchase, payment details and Apple Account purchase history under Apple’s own terms and privacy information. KAI Academy does not receive full payment-card details.

The app reads product information and current entitlement status from Apple so it can show prices, restore Premium access and remove Premium-only access after a refund or revocation. StoreKit transaction identifiers for Crystal packs are remembered locally to prevent duplicate delivery. KSJ Growth does not receive those identifiers from this version of the app.

Younger players and families

KAI Academy is designed especially for learners aged 10–13. Real-money actions require guardian verification before Apple’s purchase confirmation. The app does not include third-party advertising, behavioural analytics, social networking, public profiles, chat between players or unprotected external links.

The parent and guardian feedback checklist uses only fixed choices and does not request a player’s name, age, contact details or written comments.

Retention and deletion

Local game information remains on the device until it is changed by normal play or the app and its data are deleted. A parent or guardian can clear the optional feedback checklist within the app. Deleting the app removes its locally stored game information, subject to any device backup controlled by the device owner and Apple.

Apple controls purchase records. Those records cannot be deleted by KSJ Growth; questions about Apple purchase history should be directed to Apple.

Because KSJ Growth does not receive the app’s local game information, we cannot retrieve, correct or delete it remotely.

Contacting us

If a parent or guardian emails us for support or privacy help, we will receive the information they choose to include in that email. Support correspondence is handled separately from the app and only used to respond, keep an appropriate support record, protect our legal rights or meet legal obligations. Please do not send personal information about a young player unless it is genuinely necessary.

Privacy questions can be sent to denny@trykai.co.uk. Depending on the circumstances, people may have rights over personal information they send to us and may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Future features and changes

If KAI Academy later adds accounts, cloud saves, live AI, analytics or another feature that changes its data practices, we will update the app, its privacy information, the App Store privacy answers and this notice before enabling that feature.
